HomeownerNot interested

YouNo problem, one thing before I go… have you actually looked at your bill lately, or do you just pay it and try not to think about it? … Yeah that number only goes in one direction, and you don’t get to vote on that.

HomeownerI'm renting

YouTotally understand — is the homeowner available? This program is specifically for the owner of the property.

HomeownerI don't want my credit run

YouI understand. We are not running your credit. At the appointment, it’s a soft check that gives a thumbs up or down. This is a no cost program. The state funds the installation, the warranties, guarantees and maintenance. The only thing that changes for you, is you’ll have a cheaper electric bill and the state wants to see that you have a history of paying that electric bill.

HomeownerI have to talk to my spouse

YouYeah, of course- she’ll have questions you don't have and you’ll have questions she won’t have. We want you both to be there if possible so you can both receive that information from the professional. This appointment is just questions and answers, there is nothing to sign and no decision to be made at that time… Is she usually home by 6 or would this be an afternoon thing?

HomeownerI don't believe it's really free

YouI completely understand the skepticism — most people feel the same way before they see it. My engineer will show you the exact savings for your specific home. No pressure, no obligation.

move on

HomeownerI'm too busy

YouNo problem. I can understand that as well. Let me ask you this. Is it the timing this week, or is getting the electric bill down just not a priority right now? Either answer is fine.

If timing:

YouGot it. Then I won't force it this week. Are you usually working 9 to 5, or home during the day?

If not a priority:

YouFair enough. I'll close this out so nobody keeps calling you about it. Before I do: you said the bill runs about $[BILL]. Are you okay with that number going up another 18% next year?

HomeownerCan you call me back?

YouI can do that. Here's how it usually goes, though. I call back, you're as busy as you are today, and we trade voicemails for a month.

So instead of me chasing you, let's put a time on next week's calendar now. If something comes up, you text us and it moves. Would [DAY] at [X-TIME] be a problem?
